Background Information
Oral Surgery Associates began in 1971 with two doctors and one small office. We have since grown and opened an office in Altoona. We also serve the Rice Lake area at our satellite Rice Lake office. Our practice currently has three oral surgeons, three endodontists, and 35 staff members.
The specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery requires up to six additional years of hospital based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As oral and maxillofacial surgeons, our doctors manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Our doctors are ADA recognized specialists in oral and maxillofacial surgery, combining their expertise in oral surgery and medicine to provide a full range of surgical procedures including but not limited to: dental implants, corrective jaw surgery, wisdom tooth removal, diagnosis and treatment of facial pain and injuries including fractures, bone augmentation, and TMJ disorders. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. Our office can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures.
As a long standing and established dental implant practice in the Midwest, our surgeons have extensive experience providing surgical dental implant procedures, including advanced techniques for complex implant reconstruction. In addition, we are one of the few practices in the area with experienced, dedicated Implant Coordinators, who facilitate a seamless treatment sequence for our patients and serve as a liaison with the restorative offices.
Our highly respected and skilled endodontic specialists are Dr. Blair Johnson, DDS, MS, Dr. Megan Bollman, DMD, MS, and Dr. Lulu Schaefer, DDS. An endodontic specialist requires up to three years of specialty training in endodontics after the completion of dental school.
Our endodontists are members of the American Association of Endodontists. Dr. Johnson and Dr. Bollman specialize in endodontic procedures such as; root canals, apicoectomies, cracked teeth, and injuries. We provide the highest standard of professional care in a friendly, comfortable environment.
Our goal is to provide professional dental care in a relaxed atmosphere at affordable costs. We treat the individual, not just the dental disease.
